In loving memory of Chris Ausman

KELOWNA – An impromptu memorial has appeared in Rutland on the spot where Chris Ausman was found murdered two weeks ago.

Notes from friends and family, as well as golf balls, have been left at the scene in a silent tribute to the man found dead in a pool of blood on a Rutland sidewalk Jan. 25.

Ausman's body was found by RCMP in the 100 block of Highway 33 in Rutland at 2:06 a.m. Saturday. Police ruled the death a homicide but exactly how he died has not been released.

A memorial page was created on Facebook and Ausman's family and friends are sharing pictures and memories. According to Facebook, he is survived by a young daughter.

A short video was also produced by Amy Cardoza and posted to the page and to YouTube.

Police want anyone with information about the case, or anyone who had been in contact with Ausman during the evening of Friday, Jan. 24 or the early morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 25, to call the Kelowna RCMP Tip Line at 250-470-6236.
