A fire tore through an abandoned building in the 2700 block of Shannon Lake Road in West Kelowna overnight.
“The first in crew found advanced fire conditions and downed power lines upon arrival and deemed it a defensive fire operation,” states a West Kelowna Fire Rescue news release. “It was determined that this was an abandoned structure with no one living there at this time.”
The release didn’t say what time firefighters arrived at the blaze.
The fire is deemed suspicious so the RCMP will be investigating.
No word yet on the cause of the fire.
