Kamloops cops on hunt for university dorm voyeur

Police in Kamloops are looking for a peeping Tom around university dorms after a pair of reports.
On Oct. 7, a voyeur was reported peering into at least one student’s windows at McGill Residences, according to Kamloops RCMP.
A Thompson Rivers University spokesperson wouldn’t comment specifically on the reports except to say staff are cooperating with RCMP and will “maintain support for students as needed.” They said in the written statement that it takes all campus housing safety concerns seriously.
A video posted to social media by the student’s friend last week showed what appeared to be a man dressed in dark clothing fleeing from view after a student pulled back the current in their front window in their on-campus suite.
The student told iNFOnews.ca she had been speaking with university officials since the incidents began.
It’s not clear whether she’s the only victim.
The university wouldn’t say whether any student victims have been moved into different suites due to the voyeurism reports, but did say that’s one of the options available when student safety, or sense of safety, is affect.
The university said it has a specific sexual violence prevention and response team in place to assist students and staff navigate such incidents.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier said the investigation is ongoing. It’s not clear whether the suspect is a student.
