Vernon RCMP warn public after woman grabbed, assaulted in Polson Park

Vernon RCMP are commending a woman for her "fighting mentality" after she and her dog managed to fight off an unknown attacker in Polson Park yesterday afternoon. 

Police say the woman was walking her dog in the park around 4 p.m. Nov. 26 when she was "grabbed and assaulted" by a man. The woman's dog got involved in the ensuing struggle. RCMP spokesperson Const. Kelly Brett says the attacker should have bites on his right arm. Police secured the scene and sent a police dog but a suspect wasn't found. 

"The victim in this incident, who sustained minor injuries, can be commended for her fighting mentality," Brett said.

They're looking for a white bald man, roughly 30 years old, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and wrapped in a blanket.
