UPDATE: Kelowna RCMP make arrest in Knox Mountain wildfire

Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the wildfire in Knox Mountain Park in Kelowna this afternoon.

The wildfire sparked today, Oct. 24, and the Kelowna Fire Department is on the scene. It’s not clear if BC Wildfire has responded.

At one point, RCMP officers escorted hikers off the mountain.

Kelowna RCMP have not revealed the identity of the person who was arrested and they remain in custody.

Police are asking the public to stay away from the area and have blocked off access points to Knox Mountain Park.
