Kamloops RCMP find cash, drugs, guns in rented vehicle

Police officers seized cash, drugs and guns after they noticed some suspicious activity around a vehicle at a gas station near Kamloops last week.

Tk’emlúps frontline officers noticed some suspicious behaviour around a rental vehicle at a gas station in the 400-block of Paul Lake Road around 8 p.m. on Oct. 23, according to a press release from police.

Police checked the driver and found that they were prohibited from driving so they arrested them. During the investigation police found $15,000 in cash, kilograms of various illegal drugs and three guns.

The driver was released but police are expecting to make several charge recommendations under the Criminal Code, Firearms Act and Motor Vehicle Act.

“Illegal firearms and illicit drugs in our communities remain a targeted concern. We continue to proactively target and disrupt those persons involved in the drug trade, and in this instance yielded an immediate benefit, making all our communities safer,” Supt. Jeff Pelley, Officer In Charge of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment said in the release.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to call the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and cite file 2025-35493.
