The Kelowna RCMP is looking for a Yorkie named Justice that was grabbed by a stranger and then ran off.
A friend of Justice’s owner was walking the 5-year-old dog around Water Street and Lake Avenue around 7 a.m. today, Nov. 6, according to a press release from police.
While on the walk, a man approached the friend and grabbed Justice forcefully. During the altercation the man dropped the dog and Justice fled in a panic.
Police caught the dog snatcher a short while later.
Justice is tan and white, and weighs around five pounds. He might be scared, disoriented or injured.
The dog was last seen going towards Pandosy Street and Park Avenue.
Police said the effort to find Justice is ongoing.
“We are hoping to locate Justice to be able to return him to his owner, following this frightening incident,” RCMP Cpl. Allison Konsmo said in the release.
Anyone who has seen Justice or has any information about his location has been asked to call the Kelowna RCMP non-emergency line at 250-762-3300 and reference file number 2025-67032.
