People shop at Value Village stores to find great deals but often they find items that are a wildly overpriced.
Sometimes items for sale in the second hand stores are dirty or broken.
Others have the original price tags on them that are lower than the tag Value Village adds, while items like beer bottles, which belong in the recycle bin, are priced to sell.

Value Village is one of hundreds of retail stores selling second-hand merchandise in the USA, Canada and Australia under the parent company Savers Value village that was founded in 1954 and is based in Bellevue, Washington, according to Stock Analysis.
Along with collecting donations, the for-profit retail giant purchases secondhand items from non-profit partners then processes, selects, prices and sells them.

There are Value Village social media groups dedicated to both the fabulous secondhand finds and the most ludicrous ones found throughout North America, with the latter sparking both frustration and amusement.

I found a scarf that was from the dollar store marked $1.25 but they had put a tag of $7.99. I brought it to their attention but it fell on deaf ears. I never shop there. it is not for helping the poor, it is enriching a corporation and that is not right….donating free stuff and a corporation makes money….PURE EVIL. DO NOT DONATE TO VALUE VILLAGE
I was in the Kamloops VV Boutique seven years ago. I was already biased against them as I know their profits go to two companies in the states…at least they did at that time. I had just been in the restore store up the hill looking at a wall of beautiful crystal and highend glasses of all sorts. I chose a pair of gorgeous whiskey glasses and upon asking their price I was told 2 dollars each!!! Then I went to VV. I picked up an ugly heavy squat drinking glass, looked at the price…4.00!!! I was appallled and insulted and left and never went back and never donated to them.
