BEIJING —
Canada’s Naomi Urness claimed bronze in a women’s World Cup freestyle skiing big air competition Saturday.
Urness finished with a two-run total of 171.5, placing her behind gold medallist Anni Karava of Finland (175.5) and Liu Mengting of China (172.25).
The 21-year-old Urness of Mont-Tremblant, Que., won her first career World Cup medal with a silver at the season-opening big air event last week in Secret Garden, China.
She has been with the national team since 2023.
Dylan Deschamps of Quebec City placed seventh in the men’s event Saturday.
The 22-year-old Deschamps also won silver in Secret Garden.
