Oliver’s McKinney Place long-term care home recorded another COVID-19 related death today.
Interior Health said the beleaguered care home now has 77 positive cases of the virus, between 54 residents and 23 staff. Today’s death brings the total number of COVID-19 victims in the facility to 14.
"It is important for us to remember that each death impacts families, friends and entire communities. With increased COVID-19 activity throughout Interior Health, it remains critically important for all of us to follow public health orders and guidance to protect ourselves and those we love,” Interior Health CEO Susan Brown said today, Jan. 7.
Interior Health reported 96 new COVID-19 cases overnight, bringing the total to 4,406 in the region.
Thirty-three people are in hospital with eight in intensive care.
The region has recorded 35 deaths so far during the pandemic.
