Tempo set to make WNBA debut on May 8 at home against Washington

TORONTO — The Toronto Tempo are scheduled to make their debut when the 2026 WNBA season kicks off on May 8.

The Tempo are set to host the Washington Mystics at Coca-Cola Coliseum in one of three season-opening games as part of its 44-game schedule released Wednesday.

The WNBA’s players and the league are currently negotiating on a new collective bargaining agreement.

Should an agreement be reached, Toronto will play the majority of its home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum, but will host three games at Scotiabank Arena, home of the NHL’s Maple Leafs and NBA’s Raptors.

The Phoenix Mercury will visit Scotiabank Arena on June 27, followed by the Minnesota Lynx on July 30, and Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on August 18.

The Tempo will also play two games at the Bell Centre in Montreal — against Dallas on July 10 and New York on July 12 — and two at Rogers Arena in Vancouver — against fellow expansion team Portland on Aug. 21 and defending champion Las Vegas on Aug. 23.
