REGINA — KeeSean Johnson is staying put.
According to a CFL source, the American receiver has agreed to a contract extension with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The source spoke on the condition of anonymity as the Riders haven’t announced the move.
Johnson, 29, had 89 catches for 1,159 yards and four TDs for the Grey Cup champions last season, earning CFL all-star honours. He was slated to become a free agent next month.
The Riders also released American receiver Shawn Bane Jr. while signing Canadian defensive back Kerfalla Exumé to a extension. Bane Jr. was scheduled to become a free agent Feb. 10.
He spent three seasons with the Roughriders, registering 146 catches for 1,713 yards and nine TDs in 36 regular-season games. Bane Jr.’s best season was 2023 when he recorded 93 receptions for 1,104 yards with four TDs.
Bane Jr. began his CFL career with the Calgary Stampeders (2021-22).
Exumé, a Montreal native, appeared in all 18 of the club’s regular-season games along with the West final and Grey Cup victory over the Montreal Alouettes in 2025.
Exumé recorded four tackles, eight special-teams tackles and a forced fumble last season.
Blue Bombers sign three-time CFL all-star receiver Tim White to one-year deal
WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed three-time CFL all-star receiver Tim White to a one-year deal.
White was released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Monday in advance of the free agent market opening on Feb. 10.
The 31-year-old spent the last five seasons with the Ticats, where he was named a CFL all-star in 2022, 2023 and 2024, as well as an East Division all-star on four occasions (2021-24).
White appeared in 83 games over his five years in Hamilton – all starts – and had four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, including pulling in 84 passes for 1,016 yards and seven touchdowns last year.
He totalled 383 catches for 5,488 yards and 33 touchdowns in those five seasons, hitting a career-high eight scores in 2022, 2023 and 2024, along with a career-best 94 receptions in 2022 and a personal high of 1,269 yards in 2023.
Ottawa Redblacks re-sign Canadian offensive lineman Bladek
OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks re-signed veteran Canadian offensive lineman Dariusz Bladek to a one-year extension Wednesday.
Bladek, 31, would’ve become a CFL free agent next month.
The six-foot-four, 303-pound Baldek started 10-of-11 games he appeared in last season before suffering a season-ending leg injury.
Bladek has appeared in 100 CFL regular-season games over eight seasons with Ottawa (2024-present), the Toronto Argonauts (2021-23) and Saskatchewan Roughriders (2017-19).
