WHISTLER — RCMP in Whistler, B.C., says a man reported missing late last month has been found dead in an out-of-bounds area of the ski resort.
Police say the body of a 78-year-old man was found on March 5 on Whistler Mountain after a search effort involving police, the ski patrol and search-and-rescue teams from Whistler, Squamish and the North Shore.
They say the man, who is not a Whistler resident, was first reported missing on Feb. 28.
Police say a multi-jurisdictional investigation whittled the man’s last location down to Whistler, setting off the search and the discovery of the body.
The cause of death is not considered suspicious.
Police say no further details on what led to the death will be released.
