COVID-19 outbreak declared at Vernon seniors residence

Interior Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at another retirement residence in Vernon.

According to an Interior Health media release issued today, Feb. 10, one resident at the Carrington Place Retirement Residence has tested positive for COVID-19.

Interior Health says everyone in close contact with the resident is now in self-isolation and monitoring for symptoms. The retirement residence has put outbreak protocols in place which includes a stop to all visits to the site.

Additional infection control and preventive measures have also been put in place and include monitoring of all residents for respiratory symptoms and testing anyone with COVID-19 symptoms as well as enhanced cleaning protocols.

Carrington Place is a combined assisted living and independent living residence privately operated by Chartwell.
