Directed by Julie Taymor (The Lion King), the stage comes alive with giant kites, dancing puppets, and shimmering costumes that feel more like a Broadway fantasy than a 200-year-old opera. This specific version is sung in English and trimmed down to a brisk 116 minutes, making it the ultimate “entry point” for those who think opera is too long or intimidating. It features the “Queen of the Night” aria—one of the most famous pieces of music in history—known for its gravity-defying high notes that sound almost superhuman. At its heart, it’s a whimsical fairy tale about a prince, a bird-catcher, and a magical instrument on a journey to save a princess. GENRE(S): Opera Pre-recorded Encore RUNTIME: 116 minutes LANGUAGE: English
