Southampton FC said Friday that Canadian striker Cyle Larin has completed a permanent transfer to remain at the English club.
The 31-year-old Larin, from Brampton, Ont., was a January recruit on loan from Spain’s RCD Mallorca. He had eight goals in 16 Championship appearances.
The two-year deal includes a team option for 2029, the club said in a statement.
Larin earned his 90th cap for Canada on Friday night in an international friendly against Ireland in Montreal.
He has been named to Canada’s 26-man roster for the FIFA World Cup.
Canada will open play June 12 against Bosnia-Herzegovina at Toronto Stadium.
