Crisp weather awaits Cuba for Canada game as World Cup qualifying round winds down
TORONTO – Canada trained in crisp conditions Thursday in advance of its World Cup qualifier against Cuba.
It was a brisk eight degrees as the Canadian men worked out late morning at BMO Field.
The forecast calls for five degrees at game time Friday evening — hardly Mojito weather.
Contrast that with today’s high of 33 degrees in Cuba, with a nighttime low of 24 degrees.
Canada finishes off the current round of qualifying on Tuesday in Honduras.
Panama currently leads the group with nine points, followed by Honduras and Canada at seven while Cuba has none.
The top two teams advance to the six-country final round of qualifying in the region.
