Premier Christy Clark seeks one-on-one debate with NDP Leader Adrian Dix

VANCOUVER – Premier Christy Clark says she has accepted a date for a televised townhall meeting with NDP Leader Adrian Dix and she’s urging Dix to join her in front of the cameras.

Clark says the invitation for the head-to-head, 90-minute debate came from Global Television, and the expected date is May 6, just a week before the province goes to the polls.

Clark told a Liberal caucus and candidate meeting in Vancouver that she feels as if she is running against perfection.

She says the two party leaders have an obligation to debate their policies.

The television gathering would be in addition to planned all-candidates debates including the leaders of the B.C. Conservative and Green parties.

Clark says there is no reason for Dix to turn down a one-on-one debate with her. (CKNW)
