Kent Austin says team needs to work on fundamentals as camp nears
Coach and general manager Kent Austin says he doesn’t like the world “rebuilding,” but a lot of building is going on for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this season.
A new stadium is going up and work is being completed on a temporary home at the University of Guelph.
As for the team, Austin is looking to turn around a 6-12 season when camp opens this week and says they need to work on fundamentals.
In a league conference call, he wasn’t saying much about what areas in particular he plans to target.
The Ticats scored the most points of any team in the CFL in 2012 but their defence also gave up the most points.
Austin also wasn’t optimistic Chris Williams, the CFL’s outstanding special-teams player, would return after contract arbitration.
