Stampeders’ starter Drew Tate has strained forearm muscle, status unclear

CALGARY – Calgary Stampeders quarterback Drew Tate has a strained forearm muscle in his throwing arm.

The right-handed Tate was on the field for Monday’s practice at McMahon Stadium but didn’t throw any passes.

Tate started Friday night’s 36-21 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday night but left with about five minutes remaining.

Veteran backup Kevin Glenn finished the game while Tate stood on the sidelines with an ice pack on his arm.

Calgary head coach/GM John Hufnagel wasn’t sure if Tate will play Friday night in Montreal.
