Teen admits to longboard beating in Kamloops that left victim in lengthy coma
KAMLOOPS, B.C. – A 15-year-old B.C., boy expects to be sentenced in December for an attack that left a middle-aged man in a coma for months.
Defence lawyer Tom Weiss says the teen has admitted to all charges linked to the aggravated assault of 46-year-old Kamloops, B.C., resident Michael Forry.
The victim was smashed across the head with a longboard as he confronted a group of young people outside a Kamloops convenience store on Mar. 24.
Forry regained consciousness and was able to speak by June but said he did not remember anything about the incident.
Weiss says the teen’s upcoming sentencing will follow a psychiatric assessment and pre-sentence report.
The youth is currently being held in a foster facility on Vancouver Island, where Weiss says he remains under round-the-clock scrutiny. (CHNL)
