Here are the latest developments from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. All times Eastern:

Argentina defeats Jordan 3-1 to finish first in Group J with three wins in as many matches.
11:58 p.m.
Sasa Kalajdzic of Austria scores in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time to salvage a 3-3 draw against Algeria and advance to the World Cup knockout round.
11:55 p.m
Riyad Mahrez scores his second goal of the match, three minutes into second-half stoppage time, to give Algeria a 3-2 lead over Austria.

Lionel Messi comes off the bench and scores in the 80th minute to give Argentina a 3-1 lead over Jordan.

Argentina, with goals from Giovani Lo Celso and Lautaro Martinez, lead Jordan 2-1 with 62 minutes played in Arlington, Texas. Musa Al-Taamari has scored for Jordan. And in Kansas City, Algeria and Austria are tied 2-2 with 63 minutes played. Rafik Belghali and Riyad Mahrez have scored for Algeria, while Marko Arnautovic and Marcel Sabitzer have the Austria goals.

The final two matches of the World Cup’s group stage round are just minutes away from kicking off. Defending champion Argentina plays Jordan in Arlington, Texas, while Austria and Algeria square off in Kansas City. Argentina leads Group J with two wins in as many matches, Austria and Algeria each has a win and a loss, and Jordan is 0-2. Austria has scored three goals and allowed three, while Algeria has scored twice and given up four goals.

Colombia and Portugal finish in a scoreless draw, while DR Congo beats Uzbekistan 3-1. Colombia finishes first in Group K with two wins and a draw, while Portugal has a win and two draws. DR Congo has a win, draw and loss, and Uzbekistan finishes with three losses.

Wissa scores his second of the match for DR Congo to give his side a 3-1 lead over Uzbekistan with only a couple minutes left in second-half stoppage time in Atlanta. Colombia and Portugal are scoreless four minutes into second-half stoppage time in Miami.

Fiston Mayele scores in the 78th minute to give DR Congo a 2-1 lead over Uzbekistan.

Yoane Wissa of DR Congo converts a penalty in the 68th minute to tie the game with Uzbekistan at 1-1.

Croatia, with goals from Petar Sucic and Nikola Vlasic, defeated Ghana 2-1. Derrick Luckassen scored for Ghana. Croatia finished second in Group L with two wins and a loss, while Ghana had a win, loss and draw.

England, with second-half goals from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane, defeated Panama 2-0 in Group L action in New Jersey. England finishes first in group stage play with two wins and a draw, while Panama was 0-3 and will not advance.

Croatia took a 1-0 lead into halftime against Ghana thanks to a Petar Sucic goal in the 31st minute.

Canada coach Jesse Marsch says star captain Alphonso Davies will be ready to play in the team’s round of 32 matchup against South Africa on Sunday in Los Angeles. Marsch initially said he expected Davies to play in the country’s group-stage finale against Switzerland in Vancouver last Wednesday, but did not bring him off the bench and later said he used the talent as a “decoy” to disrupt the Swiss, who ultimately won the game 2-1.
