September is filled with lots of cultural celebrations as Culture Day begins across BC and Canada. Officially starting on September 18, the next few weeks leading into October 4 will have cultural events happening throughout the week and weekends. Make sure to see what’s happening in your local communities and discover something new! Here’s what’s happening this weekend!

PENTICTON

Vancouver Canucks Training Camp 2026

Fans will have the opportunity to see the Canucks take to the ice throughout four days of Training Camp, with on-ice practices scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Sunday. This year’s Training Camp headliner is Super Saturday, a fun-filled, fan-friendly day featuring a pre-game morning skate, on-ice practice, a 30-minute Blue vs. White Scrimmage and Q&A with select members of the Canucks leadership group.

Salmon Feast at Okanagan Falls Provincial Park

The Annual Salmon Feast is a three-day event and is an essential practice in the continued organized efforts of the Okanagan Nation Alliance and member communities to raise awareness of the importance of habitat protection and rehabilitation of local ecosystems and watersheds, and renew connections and relationships between all residents of the region and water and fish.

Artiverse 2026 Block Party at the Leir House Cultural Centre

The Penticton & District Community Arts Council invites you to participate in the production of Artiverse 2026, PDCAC’s annual fundraising celebration! 2026 MOTIONBALL MARATHON OF SPORT

Kelowna’s Motionball Marathon of Sport, presented by Kelowna Toyota in support of the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, returns to City Park. Participants of all abilities will come together to compete, connect and help create meaningful opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.

Dancing with the Vernon Stars Dress Rehearsal

The DWTVS Dress Rehearsal gives you the chance to see local Vernon stars take the stage before the big night. Local community members have been paired with talented local dance instructors, and together they have spent weeks learning, rehearsing and preparing to perform at their annual Dancing with the Stars fundraising gala on October 3. 100% of proceeds go to the North Okanagan Hospice Society

CMK presents Exploring Prodigy

Chamber Musicians of Kamloops opens its season with Exploring Prodigy, featuring the newly formed Kamloops String Quartet. Cvetozar Vutev and Timoteus Carlson on violin, Annette Dominik on viola, and Laure Matiakh on cello. Special guests Ephrem Howell, countertenor, and Nathan Howell, piano, will also join the ensemble for this evening of chamber music.
