iN NUMBERS: Get ready for ski season in Okanagan, Kamloops

Take a moment to mourn the sunshine, beach days and frosty drinks of summer. OK, moment over.

Now it’s time to get excited about ski season.

It’s around the corner and if you want to be ready for the slopes these are some good dates to know.

Here are the numbers:

  • 26: As in 26th of November. That’s Big White Ski Resort’s scheduled opening day.
  • 770: Dollars. That’s how much you save on a Big White season pass if you buy it before Oct. 18.
  • 2: Dollars. That’s the admission fee for the Big White Ski Club’s ski swap on Oct. 23 and 24.
  • 27: As in 27th of November. That’s Silver Star Mountain Resort’s alpine opening date.
  • 500: Dollars. That’s how much you save on a Silver Star ski pass if you get it before Nov. 3. It’s the second tier of the early bird pass, the first deadline passed on Sept. 30.
  • 21: as in 21st of November. That’s Sun Peaks Resort’s scheduled opening day.
  • 400: Dollars. That’s how much you save on a Sun Peaks season pass if you get it before Oct. 31.
  • 3: Days, Nov. 6, 7 and 8. That’s how long the Winter Extreme Kamloops ski swap is.
  • 1,055: Dollars. That’s the price of an Apex Mountain Resort early bird season pass which is available until Oct. 18.
  • 57: Years. That’s how long the Vernon Ski Club has been doing its ski swap and the next one is this weekend, Oct. 3.
