Democrat David Crowley won election Tuesday as governor of Wisconsin, defeating Republican Tom Tiffany. Crowley will be Wisconsin’s first Black governor. He previously served in the Legislature and has been the top elected official in Milwaukee County since 2020. His win marks the first time in Wisconsin’s 178-year history that the governor’s office has been held by a Democrat for more than eight consecutive years. The Associated Press declared Crowley the winner at 11:28 p.m. EST.
