The Thomas Creek wildfire near Okanagan Falls has grown to 500 hectares and evacuation orders and alerts have been issued.
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) has issued an Evacuation Order for 77 properties and an Evacuation Alert for 600 properties in Electoral Area "D". To see the full list follow the link.
BC Wildfire said the fire is located 1.5 kilometres east of Skaha Lake.
There are eight firefighters and two helicopters and multiple pieces of heavy equipment dealing with this fire. BC Wildfire crews will remain on this incident overnight.
Area residents say that it broke out around 2 p.m. July 11.
