Kamloops RCMP release surveillance photos of suspect in downtown sexual assault

Kamloops RCMP have released surveillance photos of a man suspected to have sexually assaulted a woman in downtown Kamloops.

Just after midnight, July 18, police received a report that a man stole from a woman in a vehicle and sexually assaulted her on 5 Avenue and Victoria Street, according to a Kamloops RCMP press release.

He fled westbound through an alley between Seymour and Victoria Streets when the woman honked her horn and yelled.

Police initially released a description of the events and the suspect on July 22, but they are looking to the public to help identify him with photos found on downtown surveillance footage.

He is described as being Caucasian, in his mid-30s and stands between 5'5" and 5'9". He also has a raspy voice and was wearing dark clothing with orange or red stripes down his arms.

Anyone who recognizes the man or has any information about this investigation and has not yet spoken with police, can contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2021-24462.
