Cemetery security feed credited for arrest of assault suspect in Kamloops

A suspect is facing charges after he was spotted on a live security feed dragging a woman around a Kamloops cemetery late last week.

Officers arrived at the Hillside Cemetery on Notre Dame Drive in Kamloops just after midnight on Friday, Aug. 13, to find two intoxicated people.

The man was arrested and spent the night in jail to sober up and was released with a court date, according to an RCMP media release.

The woman was uncooperative with police and it turned out the man was breaching a no-contact order.

As the investigation continues, anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
