Swimmers warned to avoid taking a dip in north end of Kalamalka Lake

High bacterial counts in the water has the Coldstream again warning swimmers to stay out of the water at Kal Beach.

Further testing of the water has revealed the high bacterial counts continue to exceed Health Canada guidelines, according to a District of Coldstream media release.

The district said more testing is needed at Kal Beach and nearby Pumphouse Beach to “assess and confirm the risks to the public.”

The results of the additional testing will be made available to the public within the next week.

Until then, the district discourages residents and visitors from swimming at the north end of Kalamalka Lake.
