Police arrest 3 suspects after search of Kelowna home for explosives

Three people have been arrested after police received a report of possible explosive devices inside a Kelowna home yesterday.

Police searched the residence located within a multi-unit complex in the 400 block of Valley Road in Kelowna with help from the South East District Emergency Response team and RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit yesterday, Nov.1, after safely evacuating unrelated occupants from the area, according to an RCMP media release.

“Kelowna RCMP implemented a plan to ensure public safety immediately after receiving information there were explosives inside the residence,” Kelowna RCMP media liaison officer Cpl. Tammy Lobb said in the release.

No explosives were found and the residents were allowed to return to their homes.

RCMP said there is no risk to public safety at this time and no charges have been laid in the ongoing investigation.
