Ringo Starr to play in Penticton

PENTICTON – If you are on tour celebrating the release of an album named Postcards From Paradise, it only makes sense Penticton would be one of your stops.

Former Beatle Ringo Starr is touring with his All-Starr Band and is making Penticton just one of three B.C. stops, and one of only eight Canadian tour dates, this fall. Starr will kick off the Canadian leg of the tour in Victoria on Oct. 8 before stopping in Vancouver on Oct. 9 and then the South Okanagan Events Centre on Oct. 10.

The tour comes on the heels of his 18th solo album, which is set to release at the end of March, as well as the release of Starr’s book Photograph in September. Starr will also be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April.

The All-Starr Band includes Steve Lukather from the band Toto, Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie (Santana and Journey), Richard Page of Mr. Mister, Warren Ham and drummer Gregg Bissonette.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, March 27. Tickets for the Penticton show are available through valleyfirsttix.com, by calling 1-877-SOEC-TIX (763-2849), or by stopping in at the Valley First Box Office or Wine Country Visitor Centre. Vancouver tickets are available through Ticket Master.
