Kelowna MP Gray supports Poilievre in Conservative leadership race

Kelowna-Lake Country MP Tracy Gray is throwing her support behind Pierre Poilievre in the Conservative party leadership race.

Not only is Gray supporting the longtime Ottawa-area MP, she is co-chairing his campaign in B.C., alongside South Surrey MP Kerry-Lynne Findlay and Cariboo-Prince George MP Todd Doherty, according to a Facebook post.

“Pierre Poilievre will fight fearlessly for the success and prosperity of Canada and I believe he is the leader Canadians need,” Gray wrote on Facebook.

The next Conservative leader will be decided Sept. 10. Those running have until April 19 to throw their hat into the ring and until June 3 to sell memberships.

Pollievre, 42, has begun fundraising and holding events in Montreal, Regina and Toronto. Among the things he has promised party members is to cancel the federal carbon tax.

He is currently running against Leslyn Lewis, Roman Baber and Jean Charest.
