PENTICTON — Challenge Penticton has added the half relay to this summer’s list of races.
Teams of three can now register to partake in the annual Penticton triathlon. Athletes will swim 1.9 kilometres, bike 90 km and run 21.2 km on the iconic course.
“The Challenge Penticton Canada experience is about the celebration of sport and it is showcased through our Festival of Events week that has something for everyone,” organizers said in a press release.
The race addition was made as part of organizer’s development plan to grow and make Challenge the world-class event the South Okanagan has prided itself on as former Ironman hosts.
The second annual Challenge Penticton triathlon will take place Sunday, Aug. 24. Athletes can register for full or half distance, full relay and now half relay.
