Man shoots gun, interrupts nearby Kelowna family gathering
A man was arrested by police earlier this week after he allegedly shot a gun off during a neighbourly dispute.
Kelowna RCMP officers responded to the 4200 block of Highway 33 after they received a report of a dispute which resulted in a neighbour firing off a gun, Sept. 10 at roughly 12:20 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found evidence that confirmed the allegation, said Const. Mike Della-Paolera, media relations officer for the Kelowna RCMP, in a press release.
"The residents of the neighbouring property where a family gathering was occurring were secured with the protection of police until the subject was taken into custody. No injuries were reported," he said.
The man was later released and is expected to appear in court at a later date. Police officers are still investigating the incident.
As this was an isolated incident, there are no concerns for public safety, Della-Paolera said.
