A jealous boyfriend allegedly got in trouble with the police for smashing out a car’s windows in Lillooet.
The owner of the sedan reported the smashed windows to police at 2 p.m. on Nov. 19, according to a Lillooet RCMP report.
There were no witnesses or suspects so officers “began conducting neighbourhood inquiries,” police reported.
At a residence, they met a man who had blood on his shirt and a large cut on his right hand requiring medical attention.
The man admitted to police that he was the person who smashed the windows, as “he thought the vehicle was owned by a man he believed was sleeping with his girlfriend,” according to the report.
However, the RCMP reported the owner of the vehicle is a woman.
The man was arrested, released, and the investigation is ongoing.
