Abstract – Create a one of a kind encaustic painting

In this workshop you will create sumptuous surfaces and texture, including visual and physical texture, explore mark-making techniques, wax applications, incising and inlaying. Explore color and creating depth through use of pigmented wax, glazing techniques, tar paint and metallics and leaf. Encaustics will open up a new venue for exploring and developing new approaches to your work and working larger.Participants are encouraged to bring mark-making tools, ephemera, and old and handmade papers to incorporate into your work.A suggestion list will be sent upon registration including recommendations of additional items you may want to have on hand for the class.Suitable for all levels,some experience with encaustic is recommended.2 day workshop$375.00Worried that you won’t have time to prepare your boards or need a little refresher time to play in the studio prior to class?
