Acclaimed Viano String Quartet to Perform in Kelowna

Kelowna, BC – Chamber Music Kelowna Society (CMK) is pleased to present a concert by the Viano StringQuartet, the 2019 winners of the Banff International String Quartet Competition. Following in ChamberMusic Kelowna’s tradition of showcasing Banff festival laureates, the Viano String Quartet will perform atthe Mary Irwin Theatre at the Rotary Centre for the Arts (RCA) on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 7:30 pm.According to the American Record Guide: The Viano String Quartet has a “huge range of dynamics,massive sound, and spontaneity.”The Quartet was formed in 2015 at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, and have appearedin venues such as Wigmore Hall, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, SOKA Performing Arts Center, and theCerritos Center for Performing Arts. They have performed with such world class musicians as pianistsEmanuel Ax, Marc-André Hamelin, and Elisso Virsaladze, violist Paul Coletti, and violinist Martin Beaver.In their Kelowna concert, these brilliant young musicians will showcase their award-winning talents in aprogram of powerful, vigorous, and moving music, featuring works by Jessie Montgomery, SergeiProkofiev, and Alexander Borodin.Tickets for the April 29 performance at 7:30pm are available online through the RCA website atwww.rotarycentreforthearts.com, at the RCA Box Office, or by calling 250.717.5304.
