ArtWalk: Taking It Outside

The restrictions and impact of the Covid19 pandemic have made it impossible to produce a regular ArtWalk Festival in Lake Country. Fortunately, this year, a different event will still offer the public a wonderful opportunity to see some high-quality art and watch the magic of artists creating their art. As the title suggests, it will all take place outside.Groups of Artists will be set up at 12 selected sites around Lake Country. This event is based on the classic Plein air experience, in which artists paint or create other art forms while working outside, “in the open air.” They may use the surroundings of both urban and nature scenes as the subject of their artwork to paint, draw, sculpt, stitch, or whatever their artmaking process is. The artists will also have their artworks on display and for sale.Each site offers a unique location to enjoy the sights and amenities, including wineries, parks and galleries. You might also like to do a little wine tasting or select a great venue for lunch.The event is free to the public. A map of the 12 sites will lead your self-guided tour of Taking It Outside and will be available in early September on our website. You will also find printed maps at various community locations.
