Backyard Composting Workshop

This workshop, instructed by local gardening and composting experts Najiha Al Asmar and Jesús Jimenez, will cover the basics of backyard hot pile composting* via lecture and live demonstrations. By attending this workshop, San Mateo County residents qualify for a complimentary composting bin and discounted supplies.**If you don’t have access to a backyard, but would still like to compost, you’re in luck! Najiha will also cover how to join the the Fresh Approach Community Compost Hub, a great option to get involved in composting at a community level. *Important notes: This workshop will only cover the hot pile composting method. The hot pile composting method is outdoors only. If you are interested in worm composting, which is a different composting technique that can be done indoors our outdoors, we are hosting a workshop on worm composting in February 2021.
