Beacon & Friends WinterFest and Holiday Market

Beacons Furry FUNdation Society is excited to bring the first ever Beacon & Friends WinterFest and Holiday Market to West Kelowna. Our hope is to make Beacons & Friends WinterFest and Holiday Market a destintion multi-day holiday event with a Tree Lighting Ceremony, artisan vendors, food and drink, carollers, lighting and entertainment to launch all that attend fully into the spirit of the holidays with a visit to the North Pole. A lively atmosphere of music, entertainment, glittering lights and family fun will be created.This inclusive event will host vendors selling holiday themed wares and gifts under the cover of lighted huts and indoor tables. We will have performers in costume and carollers, live music, a gingerbread building competition, a sponsored Light Tunnel, mulled wine tastings, hot chocolate building station, hot apple cider station, multiple food vendors, Mrs Claus’ Kitchen, Beacon the Elf Toy Workshop and of course SANTA! Proposed food vendors will include seasonal fare. We do not plan to have any other alcohol served at the event other than the tastings.Beacons Furry FUNdation Society will provide specs and planning for the semi-permanent light tunnel, with a plan to have it stay in place until December 20th.Our event includes areas for various photo stations with differing themes.With hosting the event, we want to bring the spirit of giving into this event with a toy drive. Beacons Buddies Gifts of Celebration aims to preserve and create childhood memories by fulfilling ‘dreams and wishes’ made by children and families deemed needing a helping paw up. Our current programs include Santa’s Magical Holiday Breakfast where participants are treated to a breakfast, a visit with Santa and a hand selected gift/toy. Our Santa’s Dream Program is provided to children needing a helping paw up, the opportunity to create a letter to Santa including a wish-list. Beacon works with Santa to answer the letters and fills their toy requests. All gifts are wrapped and delivered to the families before Christmas Eve for their family to place under the tree for Christmas morning.?This seasonal event will support local artisans while providing those in attendance with the opportunity to purchase unique locally made goods for original gifts and stocking stuffers.
