The Vernon Rowing and Dragon Boat Club & Wings are putting on a fundraiser! Join us on March 09th, 2020 at 5:00PM to help support our local rowing and dragon boat teams. Through rowing and paddling sports, we strive to encourage participation, personal challenge and the pursuit of excellence from grassroots to the Olympic and Paralympic podium. VRDBC broadens access to sport by offering programs and events that encourage broad participation. It is hoped that by encouraging participation, personal challenge and the pursuit of excellence, we will foster healthier and happier individuals and a stronger community.Silver Dips – Any funds raised due to your support will enable the further promotion of the Silver Dips, a 55 plus mixed ( women & men) dragon boat team. We always hope for additional near and retired folk to join us on the water this summer. New to dragon boating? Not an issue. We are hoping to be able to reduce the cost of travelling to festivals to ensure all members are able to comfortably participate. Thank you all for your help. Buoyant Buddies- We are a society of breast cancer survivors whose mission is, “to raise breast cancer awareness and to demonstrate that women who have experienced breast cancer or are living with breast cancer, can lead full and active lives.” Our fundraising goals are to acquire jersey tops for our uniform ensemble. We anticipate new members joining this year. Paddles are important as well and it is necessary to make modifications to the graphite. Vernon Dragon Riders – We are a passionate, energetic and fun loving team with a competitive edge, paddling our hearts across the Okanagan, Shuswap Lakes and other communities in our beautiful province for various dragon boat festivals. We are always striving to achieve and excel. We are caring and compassionate towards those that are vulnerable and less fortunate and spend our time sponsoring, walking, cycling, canvassing and donating to various charities and non – profits. We are raising funds to assist our team’s participation at festivals, to purchase new paddles as well as, support our community events.
