AN ENDURING STORY OF HOPE AMIDST THE AIDS PANDEMIC
In 1991, the most famous princess in the world made a visit to Casey House in Toronto, Canada’s first free-standing AIDS hospice. In a time of fear and division, Princess Diana’s historic visit shattered stigma and brought dignity to those living with the disease. This play is filled with humour and heart and shines a light on the people who choose compassion over division, and the caregivers who allow us to feel hope and belonging even in the darkest of times.
Nick Green’s play won the Toronto Theatre Critics Choice Award for Best New Canadian play in 2024. It’s meaningful and relevant and reminds us of the transformative power of live theatre.
