Description
A white lawyer finds his values shaken when he is paired with an angry Indigenous activist who insists on kidnapping the head of a logging company to teach him the price of his destruction.
Graham Greene was a celebrated Indigenous Canadian actor best known for his Oscar-nominated role as Kicking Bird in Dances with Wolves (1990). Born on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario in 1952, Greene broke barriers throughout his decades-long career, portraying complex Indigenous characters with dignity and depth in film, television, and theatre. His roles in productions like Thunderheart, The Green Mile, Wind River, and Reservation Dogs earned him critical acclaim and cultural significance. Greene was a member of the Order of Canada and received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2025. He passed away on September 1, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving behind a lasting legacy as a trailblazer in Indigenous representation in the arts.

The Kamloops Film Society (KFS) is the umbrella organization that operates the Paramount Theatre as well as running the annual March Kamloops Film Festival (KFF), which includes the Kamloops Independent Short Shorts (KISS) Festival. We work in cooperation to host the Thursday Film Series (TFS), and our micro-festivals, the Indigenous Film Festival (SrS IFF) (in partnership with Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc), CinéLoops: French Film Festival (in partnership with the Kamloops Francophone Association), Kamloops Queer Film Festival (QFF) (in partnership with Kamloops Pride), and the Kamloops Black Film Festival (BFF) (in partnership with Valid Dreams Foundation). The KFS has been operating for over 50 years, officially incorporating under the British Columbia Societies Act on August 17, 1994.
Venue
The Paramount Theatre in Downtown Kamloops began operations in 1955 with Theatre 1. In 1979, Theatre 2 was added. Theatre 1 seats approximately 450 patrons and Theatre 2 seats 260.
