Climate Crisis: Ground Zero (Online Presentation by Dr. Max Zahir)

Climate Crisis: Ground Zero (Online Presentation by Dr. Max Zahir)
As a 10-year-old boy, local author and retired physician Dr. Max Zahir fled India with his family during the bloody partition of India and Pakistan in August 1947. 73 years later, Dr. Zahir sees a new danger affecting his homeland – the Climate Crisis. Under current conditions, the climate crisis is expected to affect 800 million people in South Asia, by far the largest concentration of humanity so affected. Having grown up in Pakistan, and spent significant time studying the impacts of the climate crisis, Dr. Zahir will use his own experiences to discuss what he sees as the next catastrophe to hit South Asia.Watch the talk live at www.facebook.com/tnrl.ca, or watch a recording after the event in The Thompson River Library website or on our YouTube channel.
