Kathryn McCourt has been gardening and conserving water since she was three. Throughout her years as a teacher, bookkeeper, freelance writer and florist, there was always a garden, and it was usually in a dry place. She was a founding member of the Penticton Farmers’ Market and Penticton Urban Agriculture Association. Currently, she is a volunteer at the Summerland Ornamental Gardens, with a focus on helping plants survive our increasingly erratic weather.
