With options to explore deeper, this All Levels class is perfect whether you’re just getting into yoga or an advancing practitioner. 70/30 split between breathful effort and deep, restorative surrender. 10am to 12pm: In the CardsMythri Dance Fusion (Bibi Fischer) Calgary Alberta This workshop will focus on ways to sequence moves to create vibrant performances and get away from the tendency to try to throw in every move we know. We will use playing cards to help suggest options. Participants will practice building energy by creating “runs” of moves that increase in complexity and/or energy. We will also look at ways of stringing moves together so that they contrast with one another to create interest.1pm to 3pm: All the Props, nothing but the Props! Belly Belly Hip (Tonje Olson & Elena) Vancouver B.C.”We will start by looking at Dragonfly Tribal’s tambourine dialect, learn some of their moves/modifications to ATS® vocabulary, and then look at how to adapt the ideas and concepts to other props, including African fans and fanveils- and also look at some ideas for maintaining a lasting vocabulary.A variety of props will be available to borrow (baskets/fans/fanveils/tambourines) and participants will have time to work on some ideas of their own and then share them with the group. Through focussing on utilizing the music we will practice transitioning moves, fades, changing leads and also utilizing the count of the music to setup the followers and the next leader for success. Practicing these techniques will improve your communication skills as an ATS dancer.1pm to 2pm Arms: The Frame of the GameLaurel Luka Alberta Crownest PassAn in depth dive into arms, posture, strengthening and feedback on arm positioning.
