Based on a combination of real-life experiences, and academic literature, the development entrepreneurship (DE) approach increases the likelihood of introducing technically sound and politically possible reforms. Successful reforms in a wide range of sectors from education, civil aviation and property rights, to telecommunications and disaster risk reduction underpin the elements of the DE model. They also serve as proof of its effectiveness. In each of these reforms, Development Entrepreneurship may be displayed by a government actor, such as an official of a national government agency, or by a legislator; or it may be displayed by private persons or organisations who advocate for reforms and pursue buy-ins by those inside government institutions. DE may also be practiced by citizen activists in nongovernment organisations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), or business service organizations (BSOs).The DE approach recognizes that the process of inducing change can be long, messy, and unpredictable. Using the elements of this approach, human agents working inside or from outside institutions can address seemingly unsolvable problems, and find opportunities for institutional change which can bring about improved social or economic outcomes.Speakers:- Rene Sanapo, Consultant, Asia Foundation- Toix Cerna , Consultant, Asia Foundation
