Join us for an engaging evening with the renowned environmental activist, Dr. Vandana Shiva, affectionately referred to as the ‘Gandhi of Grain’. In the 2010 issue of Forbes Magazine, Dr. Shiva was identified as being one of seven of “the world’s most powerful feminists” working on social justice issues around the globe.
Vandana Shiva is a prominent Indian scholar, advocate for food sovereignty, environmental activist, ecofeminist, and anti-globalization author. With her powerful insights and extensive experience, she has become a global leader in the fight against corporate control of our food system.
Vandana Shiva holds a PhD in Quantum Theory from the University of Western Ontario. She is the founder and main force behind the Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Ecology (RFSTE) and Navdanya, a national movement to protect the diversity and integrity of living resources. In 1993, she was awarded the highly prestigious Right Livelihood Award, seen by many as the alternative Noble Peace Prize.
Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to hear from one of the most influential voices in the movement for food justice and sustainability. Join us at the TRU Grand Hall (second floor), in the Campus Activity Centre at Thompson Rivers University. Be a part of the conversations that shape our future.
