Global Climate Strike

The Okanagan is a beautiful place- and we want it to stay that was for generations to come. But climate change affects us all. It is time to step up to the challenge.Kelowna City Council does not want to declare a climate emergency or appoint a citizens’ assembly, citing their current climate plan as a reason (hint: it’s woefully inadequate).We demand:a) that the City of Kelowna declare a climate emergency.b) that the City of Kelowna integrate a citizens’ assembly into its current environment planning efforts.Come join us in a peaceful protest on the street outside of City Hall on Friday Nov. 29th. We will be joined by the Kamloops Red Brigade and possibly some dance troupes. There will be music, dancing, marches, a green canoe, and hot chocolate.
