When we think about the Middle Ages we imagine women in luxurious dresses, knights in shining armor, balls and castles. Although, despite all the imaginable glamour of that age, it was not as shining and romantic as it seemed. Telling the truth, the Middle Ages were full of disease, unsanitary conditions and unpleasant fragrances in the air.The modern doctor or a health educator would be terrified in case of time travelling to that period. The doctor’s mission is to treat human diseases for a person to be healthy and live long and happy life. Naturally, if a health educator would travel back into the Middle Ages, he/she would try to fight the epidemics prevailing everywhere. Also, one would try to explain what causes this or that disease, and the easy rules to prevent it. Unfortunately, a doctor would almost surely be considered as heretic since the Church had a great influence on people’s minds at that time. Every disease was considered to be caused by a sin or a visitation. The treatment different from that of the Church’s was considered as heretical and often the use of ‘dirty’ methods led to the death. The Church is not the only one challenge for the time traveler. The absence of hygiene procedures, unsanitary conditions, such as wastes and excrement on the city streets, and total human negation of cleanliness are also key problems to solve. These factors together with the Church influence would work totally against the modern health educator. Although, priests, medical doctors and community leaders were trying to share their ideas about health and disease prevention, and it would definitely help the educator.Unfortunately, as it can be seen from history, the attempts of health educators were too weak to re-educate all the humanity. Most probably, attempts of the modern health educator would give the same results: he/she could re-educate some group of people, but not the whole society. The modern medical techniques and health rules are not seem to be proper for culture development level existing in the Middle Ages.Academician researcher Mary Ostin public defense of doctoral dissertation https://essaysleader.com/high-school-vs-college/
